Top Ten Tuesday: Books to Read When You Want Fluff

ttt newTop Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme/feature created by The Broke and The Bookish. More information and bookish goodness can be found here.

I love reading YA contemporary. I often prefer a nice cutesy romance over badass fantasy so I decided to share with you all 10 books to read if you want super adorable fluff! All thoughts and opinions expressed in this post are my own.

1574918610 // To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
This duology is adorable. Though I didn’t enjoy the books all that much, it was cute and light, short and fast paced. If you like books with complicated romance and baked goods, then this is for you.

235733999 // The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson
This book deals heavily with grief and losing a loved one, but the romance in it is rather fluffy and sweet. The writing style is beautiful plus the added illustrations make it a fun read. Also check out I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson.

120000208 // Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz
I read this early last year so I don’t remember a whole lot about it. What I do remember, however, is that it has the cutest LGBTQ+ romance and friendship ever and I thought it was super adorable. I recommend this book to literally everyone.

173229497 // Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell
It has been SO LONG since I read this book but I was so in love with it when I did. It contains a romance blossomed through comic books and the characters are adorable.

174539836 // Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
All three books in this companion series are absolutely adorable. The characters are cute and relatable and these books are just so fun to read. They’re fast paced and everything I love in contemporary YA.

223178285 // The Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy by Jenny Han
I loved this trilogy. The books were light and summery, short and fast paced. I just felt so happy while I was reading them. The characters are cute, a little like TATBILB and these are perfect to pick up when you’re after some summer love.

182958524 // The Geography of You and Me by Jennifer E. Smith
I read this book early last year and it was just so cute! It had an awesome romance, travel and adorable characters. All of Jennifer E. Smith’s books are cute and fluffy but I think this is my favourite.

99222753 // What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen
Sarah Dessen is one of my favourite YA contemporary authors, but What Happened to Goodbye is my favourite book yet by her. This book deals with divorce while the character is trying to find her way in a new town. The romance, writing and characters are all great and I highly recommend this (and all of Dessen’s other books)!

76643342 // Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
Morgan Matson is the queen of summer contemporaries. I loved every book by her that I read by Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour gave me some serious wanderlust. This book has an awesome road trip, a super cute and complicated romance and nice illustrations throughout. This is definitely a must-read if you want fluff, but so are all of Matson’s other books.

172354481 // The Wrong Side of Right by Jenn Marie Thorne
I absolutely loved this book. Those of you who have read my review know how much I loved it. It deals with family issues but manages to still be a cute and fun read. Though it’s not super fluffy like the other books on this list, it does have a sweet romance and a cute father-daughter relationship. Plus, the cover is absolutely stunning.

There you have it, my top ten books to read when you want fluff! There were so many books I could have put on this list but these are some of my favourite contemporaries ever. Let me know what you thought of my choices in the comments, and don’t forget to link your TTT post!

  1. I don’t read a ton of contemps (although I have been reading more lately) but these look good. I do want to read Eleanor & Park as I liked Fangirl a lot and I love that they share a comic passion apparently. 🙂
