Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Love that I Don’t Talk About Enough

For Top Ten Tuesday this week, I’m going to share with you all 10 books I don’t talk enough about on my blog. I find myself often mentioning the same books over and over and over so here are some you don’t see me talking about as much!

10 // I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson
This was my first Jandy Nelson novel and I loved it. I loved Noah and Jude and the relationship between them. Jandy’s writing style is absolutely beautiful and I loved how so much of it was focused on art.

9 // The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson
Another Jandy Nelson novel! I think I almost like this more than I’ll Give You the Sun. Almost. But I loved the characters and the plot and I just ADORE JANDY NELSON’S WRITING STYLE. Both her books are great and you should check them out!

8 // Falling into Place by Amy Zhang
It’s been about a year since I read this book so all I really know about it is that it’s about physics and suicide and you don’t really know who is telling the story BUT I loved this book so much. Physics isn’t actually a huge part of this novel, which was good for me. I enjoyed all the characters and the plot but I haven’t really seen anyone talking about this novel. 7 // I Was Here by Gayle Forman
Once again, I know a lot of people didn’t like this book but I adored it. I really love books that deal with mental illness and suicide, and though this wasn’t fantastic I still enjoyed it. I liked the characters and the plot and it just sucked me in.

6 // Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige
This is a retelling of The Wizard of Oz (kind of) and all you really need to know is that Dorothy is evil. I didn’t LOVE this book, but it was such an awesome retelling and I haven’t mentioned it on the blog before. Also, the main character, Amy, is such a badass!

5 // Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
I know a lot of people weren’t huge fans of this book but I loved it! I think a big part of that was because I wasn’t comparing it to Harry Potter since I haven’t read that series. I didn’t think I’d like this because I wasn’t a huge fans of the Carry On parts in Fangirl. But I loved the characters in this book. It was lighthearted and fun and I just so enjoyed reading it.

4 // Divine by Mistake by P.C. Cast
You all know how much I love the House of Night series so it should come as no surprise that I love one of P.C. Cast’s other trilogies also. The Divine trilogy is not young adult. It’s protagonist is a woman in her 30’s and she is kind of a badass. I think this may be one of my favourite trilogies because the world is just so fantastic.

3 // The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
I think this is one of my favourite books ever but I’ve hardly spoken about it… BRI, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? This book is positively magical and it just gave me all the feels. It’s complex and enchanting and just marvellous.

2 // The Program by Suzanne Young
This book is such a unique take on mental illness and I really loved it! I loved the characters and the world. It just completely sucked me in and I read it in a few hours. Though I was quite disappointed in the sequel, I highly recommend this!

1 // More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera
I’ve mentioned this book a couple times on the blog but I’ve never given it the love it deserves. THIS BOOK IS FANTASTIC. It’s LGBTQ+ and it deals with mental illness AND race. I flew through this book last year and I just absolutely adore it.
