Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Books I Feel Different About After Time

Quite often, my opinion of a book changes a couple days after I read it and once I’ve seen other people’s reviews. As a rule, I don’t read reviews before I start a book, I wait until I’ve finished it and seeing other people’s thoughts often helps me sort through on my own. So here are some books my feelings changed about after time went by!

10 // A Thousand Pieces of You by Claduia Gray
When I read this book last year, I really enjoyed it. But after a little while and once I thought about it a bit more I liked it less. Though it is really good, it just didn’t live up to my expectations like I first thought.

9 // Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige
It’s been months since I read this but I definitely don’t like it as much as I did. Maybe it’s because I’m not the biggest fan of The Wizard of Oz but I’m just not a big fan of this one and I’m not in a rush to pick up the sequels.

8 // To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
I loved this book when I read it, but my feelings have definitely changed. When I think it about now I mostly think of it as a little childish and cliche. That being said, I’m super excited for Forever and Always, Lara Jean!

7 // Legend by Marie Lu
Another book I loved when I read it, but after I read the sequels (and after they put me in a slump) I loved it a lot less.

6 // The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare
I loved loved LOVED this series when I first read it, I thought it was so fantastic. Now though I am definitely more aware of its flaws, especially after reading Cassandra Clare’s newer books.

5 // Paper Towns by John Green
I used to be so obsessed with John Green and I adored Paper Towns… When I was 14. Now though I definitely think it’s more cliche than I used to and it just isn’t quite as good as I originally thought.

4 // Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy
I really like this book while I was reading it, but later I definitely thought it was super overhyped.

3 // We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
This is another one I liked while I was reading but ended up feeling like it was overhyped, though I still really enjoyed it.

2 // Uglies by Scott Westerfeld
When I read this last year, I thought it was a bit meh. But now that I’ve had a lot of time to think about it, it’s definitely a lot better than I first thought and it’s taking me way too long to pick up the rest of the series.

1 // Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
I didn’t mind this book when I first read it. But once I finished it, thought about it and looked at some reviews, my feelings started to change and I realised it’s definitely not as good as I first thought.
