Hauls TBR Wrap Ups

October 2018 TBR

october tbrHello everyone, long time no post! I have been pretty busy the last couple of months with uni but I’m finishing for the year in a couple of weeks so I thought I’d share with you all the books I’m hoping to read in October! I don’t usually set TBR’s for myself but over the last couple of months I’ve found them really helpful to keep me on track with my reading and also in getting through the books I’ve yet to read. I have some more ~spooky~ books for October, mostly murder mysteries, even though Halloween isn’t a huge deal here in Australia, I still wanted to get into the spirit. I also have a few re-reads, so let’s jump into it!

My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton & Julie Meadows

22840421

When this book first came out, I wasn’t interested at all. I’m not a huge fan of historical fiction and it just kind of sounded… weird. But ever since reading The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue, I’ve been really in the mood for some quirky historical fiction so I decided to finally pick this one up. I’ve heard AMAZING things about My Lady Jane and its newly released sequel, so I’m excited to read it this month.

Monday’s Not Coming by Tiffany D. Jackson

35068534

I read Tiffany D. Jackson’s debut novel Allegedly early last year and really enjoyed it so I immediately picked up her new novel. Monday’s Not Coming follows a girl named Claudia whose best friend Monday has gone missing but no one around her really seems to care or wants to find out what’s going on. This book sounds a bit dark and perfect for the halloween season!

The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton

37632716

This is one that I’ve owned for a while and have been putting off because it’s HUGE. But it sounds PERFECT for this time of year (it basically a murder mystery dinner where someone ACTUALLY dies) so I’ve decided to listen to the audiobook on my train trips to and from uni.

Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco

33784373

To be honest, I didn’t love Stalking Jack the Ripper when I read it last year, but I’ve heard a lot of people say the sequel is a lot better so I’ve decided to give it a chance. This is another one that is perfect for halloween reading, since it’s a pretty spooky series, and I’m crossing my fingers I enjoy it more than the first.

R.I.P. Eliza Hart by Alyssa Sheinmel

30414542

Ever since I read Truly Devious I have been CRAVING stories about characters that solve murders. R.I.P. Eliza Hart also takes place at a prestigious boarding school which is a setting I absolutely love. I haven’t actually heard anything about this one, but I’m really looking forward to it.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling

22842001

In September I FINALLY started re-reading the Harry Potter series after we had a discussion about in class. In October I’m planning on re-reading The Prisoner of Azkaban and I honestly couldn’t be more excited. This is really where the series picks up for me and I’m excited to be diving back into this magical world.

Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas

28260587

I’m sure you and your mothers all know that Kingdom of Ash, the Throne of Glass series finale, is releasing this month. I don’t love the Throne of Glass series quite as much as I used to, but I am looking forward to seeing how it ends but I need to re-read Empire of Storms first since it feels like it’s been 80 years since it released.

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

9361589

The final book on my 2018 TBR is one last re-read that I am SO EXCITED FOR ASDFGHJKL. I read The Night Circus back in 2015 when I was in year 12, and loved it so so so much, it’s one of my all time favourite books. I’ve been wanting to re-read it for the longest time and I just haven’t gotten around to it. But I’ve decided that the time has finally come and I can’t wait to dive back into this beautiful and atmospheric story!

There you have it, the books I’m ~hoping~ to read in October! Let me know in the comments what books are on your October TBR and if you’ve read any of the ones I’ve mentioned!
